Bathroom, Kitchen & Plumbing-Leak Mold in Houston

Mold behind tile, under sinks and inside walls from slow plumbing leaks.

Slow leaks are the most common hidden mold source: a weeping supply line, a failed shower pan, a leaking drain under a vanity. The visible stain is often the smallest part of the problem.

We open the wall where moisture readings lead, remove what is wet and moldy, and leave the area dry and documented so your plumber and your contractor can close it up.

What the process looks like

  1. Moisture mapping and leak location
  2. Selective demolition to find the extent
  3. Remove and bag affected materials
  4. Clean and dry the cavity
  5. Hand-off for repair and rebuild

Frequently asked questions

How much does mold removal cost in Houston?

Small, contained jobs (a bathroom wall, one attic section) often run from several hundred to a few thousand dollars. Larger projects with containment, removal of drywall and insulation, and clearance testing commonly run into the five figures. The price depends on square footage, materials affected and access. See our cost guide for a breakdown.

Do I need a mold test before removal?

For projects of 25 contiguous square feet or more in Texas, a licensed mold assessor generally has to write a protocol before remediation starts. For smaller areas, a visual inspection and moisture survey may be enough. Testing is also the only objective way to confirm the cleanup worked.

Is black mold more dangerous than other mold?

"Black mold" usually refers to Stachybotrys, but color alone doesn't tell you the species or the risk. Any indoor mold growth should be removed and its moisture source fixed. See Mold Macro for the broader science.
